"i don't wanna grow up. . . "

"i wanna be a Toys R Us kid!"
ahh the good ole days of singing catchy jingles as you walk through the playground at recess. wouldn't it be nice to revert back to those days again. i am starting to realize that not do we not have A)the recess with the playground, but B)even the jingles are becoming cheesy and 'un-catchy.' i recently noticed this when as an introduction to the show 'The Big Bang Theory,' rather than having a nice good song, they just made up a song about the creation of the universe. Dumb and un-entertaining.
well, i am beginning to notice this more as time goes along. now i am suppose to be aware of financial crises, political debates, professional responsibilities, and planning for the unexpected future. none of these are as fun as playgrounds.
how do you escape? what gets you through the hard, tedious, rough days when being older has all the set backs. all the freedoms, all the accessibility, all the resources do not add up to make it worth while to be 'old,' how do you react? i myself regress very easily. my childish behaviors are very shallow underneath the surface. but always look to those areas in which you can escape and enjoy them while you can, because as I continue to find out, they get replaced real fast with other aspects of grown up lifestyle. cherish them, set them out and hold on to them as best you can, because we are to enjoy this side of life and not just suffer through it day by day. each day has something special, something new, something fun, we just have to find it each day. don't ever give up looking for it.
